Eugene obtained his BCom Law degree in 2011 and an LLB degree in 2012 at the University of Pretoria. He then completed his two years of articles as a candidate attorney and was admitted as an attorney in April 2014. Eugene practiced at Potgieter Marias Attorneys until December 2014, after which he built a litigation department at Fivaz Incorporated from scratch, serving as Head of Litigation. In 2020, he established his own practice under the name Du Plessis Meintjes Incorporated. Recognizing the potential for further growth, he merged his firm with the dynamic attorneys of BPG Incorporated during 2023.

Eugene is also a qualified Notary, mediator, and skilled negotiator. He holds the right of appearance in the High Court, allowing him to represent clients across broad Court platforms.
